Mabey give Rotomotion in Guilford a call Subi. They are the WA distros for Microtech and will have the right knowledge to fine tune it. Pretty sure they have a dyno too.
Oh by the way we just had a massive cleanup due to getting new floors here - I found my Microtech hand controller.
Hm most decent mechanics should be able to tune up a standard EA carby, sorry I don't have a specific recommendation for that though Milla.

my 2c is learn to do the simple tuneup yourself, ie timing, spark plugs, air filter. For a carby, money saved can be used for a carby overhaul by the pro mech. best find an old school mech too.
If, the idle is not smooth then its not getting enough fuel i think, so i reckon DAve did the right thing. Check out your cruise map though, the map should have a steady reduction in fuel, this can effect your overall fuel use. Also there is a deceleration fuel cut which takes a bit of twiddling, too harsh and you'll get a lurching effect though when you come off throttle.
Would be good to discuss various aspects of tuning aftermarket ecu, i'm still learning i reckon....
