Home made lift kit?
Home made lift kit?
Hi
I was talking to my teacher (who also has a brumby) and he said for about $50 for materials, I could make a lift kit at school. i was wondering if this was a good idea and how much it would cost to get the brake line and steering shaft extensions? Also what about insurance as I am a P plater?
thanks

What you'll be after is the steel box with crush tube welded inside the box. Crush tube is basically steel tubing that takes the load of the torqued bolts so the box steel won't crush in on itself.
With ally block its pretty easy to make a lift - just cut the block to the right length for each block and drill the holes required...
The trickiest bit will be the strut towers - you'll need to offset them an appropriate amount to fix the camber. Some one will know the correct offset to use - I planned on making my lift but it hasn't happened yet... Time will tell.
All the best with it, you'll love it once you fit it to your subi!
