G'day Justin,
one of the easiest ways to post up pictures is use a webhosting website like http://www.imageshack.us/ and then simply copy the forum link into your post.

G'day Justin!

Glad to see you found the forum! And your attachment worked - I'm jealous (but can't justify another subi, long story that involves a torana).

Hope to catch you around the traps some time ;)

Cheers

i have a ea82t out of a 97 rx that is running a wolf3d v1 old but good i put it in a old 83 but went overseas for 3 months but came back in 7 years car still there but rusted out is i are putting it in a a 93 gl now ?
can some one tell me what boost i can run at and drive it hard all the time with out blowing it up but still get good HP out of it ?it has "2 1/2" on the out put side so all the bad air will flow free.
And is there any one out there with a "4" lift kit forsale as the BYB boy website email site is not working ?
can some one help me out ?

If the motor is in good condition but stock and you want to drive it hard, I wouldn't run more than 12psi boost without intercooling.
You should be able to pm Dave about a lift kit here-: private.php?do=newpm&u=32

New bloke from Adelaide....

Post by HeyyCharger » Thu Jun 18, 2009 8:56 pm

G'day Boys and Girls.

Been an onlooker on this site for a couple years now and thought I should join.

Thought I better introduce myself.

My Older Brother (Rkn Brumby) got me into Subies as he had a 92 Brumby and have loved subies since.

I'm majorly onto Early Ford's (e.g. 1930 Model A etc), and ranging through to 70's muscle cars (e.g. Valiant Chargers).

Thanks again,

HC.

Hello all,
My name is Darren and I'm from Adelaide, S.A.
I just bought a Subaru for the first time (1999 Liberty) and will take delivery mid next week. I was umming and arrghing between similar vintage Impreza's but went with the Liberty because it had the least amount of, how do I put this, "accessories". Basically I want to blend in, rather than stand out in my travels.
Anyway, I do have an obscure question that I can't seem to find any info on around the iNet.
Q. Are there any after market (or original) dash options other than the woodgrain insert?? (in the Liberty 1999 dash shape)
I assume the woodgrain dash is exclusive to Liberty's(?), but I'd like to know if it can be replaced with something more consistent with the interior - black/grey.
Initially I didn't like the woodgrain from pictures I saw, then when I saw it in real life it didn't look that bad.... however I'm just curious if there is any possibility of making this car PERFECT (for me).
Thanks for any info from those much wiser than me.
Take care.
Darren.

Newbie witha Forester for sale

Post by AirlieBee » Thu Aug 20, 2009 11:20 am

Hi everyone,
I love my Forester so much, but I have to sell it. I barely drive it these days, it's such a waste.
I'll happily take $35000 for it.
Here's a link to the ad: http://is.gd/2p6Jh

Thanks!
~Airlie.

Hello everyone,

I've just managed to acquire a 1988 Brumby. My wife and I have a 2001 Forester, and previously I owned a 1996 Liberty Rallye wagon (that really was a great car to drive!) and prior to that, an old 1984 wagon which I committed horrendous acts of car abuse against, and it didn't complain!

We now have a farm which we plan to move to in a few years' time, and I wanted a 4wd to get around in. I had liked the Brumbies for a long time, and since buying the farm I had been actively looking to buy a ute. As they are getting scarce, I had resorted to speaking to Brumby occupants in traffic, and even knocking on the doors of houses where there was a Brumby parked there. While this may seem a bit desperate, it did pay off - when I asked the guy around the corner if he wanted to sell his Brumby, he said "well, my wife was saying just last night that we should get rid of it...". He didn't really want to sell, but we kept in touch. He rang me two weeks ago and said that he was happy to part with it, so his Brumby is now my Brumby, and I'm happier than a pig in mud!

I have some things to do - it's had a few mechanical repairs to pass roadworthy for the sale transfer, but the seats are shot and the suspension needs some work. I really would like to raise it as high as legally allowed (I'm in the ACT but the farm's in NSW and I suppose it needs to be road legal for whichever state is the strictest). At the end of the day, I don't want a money-pit, I just want a cheap, reliable utility vehicle.

I'm looking forward to any information people can offer in order to get the Brumby to the way I want it. I also have a friend who also has a farm, and thinks that a Brumby is ideal for what he needs - so I'm on the lookout for another Brumby too.

Thanks,

Ewan

I suppose I should put something in here.
Bought a 1993 1.8lt wagon a couple of years ago after being hit by a semitrailer riding my bike. My love of touring, camping, bushwalking was undamaged however and when I learnt how to walk again I bought the little Suby and then drove around Tassie, then Melbourne up the coast to Townsville, through to Winton, Boulia, Birdsville track, down to the Oodnadatta track, Cooper Pedy, back to Melbourne.
Some pics here for anyone who's interested: http://moominsmotorcycleclub.blogspot.c ... chive.html
Preparing for a 3 week trip through the corner country, Strzelecki Track, Flinders Ranges, Oodnadatta, etc next Easter.
Suby mods: heavy duty springs, driving lights, Peugeot 14inch steels with some nice (expensive!!) off road rubber. That's about it. At the mo ;-)
