EA81 geabox output shaft leak?

Post by SUBIIE » Fri Aug 08, 2008 7:00 pm

hi team,

obviosly having a few issues with my horse feeding brumby.

didnt pass rego because of an oil leak.

it is obviously coming from the rear output shaft that links into the gearstick linkages.

what is the miracle cure?

tell me it's just a case of taking the linkage off and pulling a rubber o ring off and replacing it with a new one?

thanks guys for the help

Quick job of pulling out the old seal and replacing with a new genuine item. I think around $10.00 . Easy job if no idiot has welded the gearshift linkages to tighten them.

I replaced 3 gearbox seals on my L - had to take out the gearbox due to their design (the MY are different), $80 later I had the 3 seals that only subaru could get me...

Now the tranfer gear selector seal is leaking, 3 years down the track - its one that I didn't replace at the time...

Cheers
