Hello

Hello,

I came across this forum via. another hehe. Anyway the name's Jose and I've just gotten myself an '88 Leone sedan. Quite surprised that everything is in working order, the only problems I'm really having is that the exhaust needs to get welded up (basically shat itself) and a strange but wonderful pipe going from the air filter to something is cactus. Everything else is great though and it's a tough little car, great runabout!

Anyway just thought I'd pop by and say hi :)

Cheers

Jose

Welcome to the forum!

Glad to here you're enjoying the new ride. I'm sure some of the Sydney boys will be keen to check it out if you come on one of their outings. When you inevitably do have some technical questions you will be overwhelmed by the response of people offering opinions and advice.
Welcome again,

a.

Hi and welcome to the forums.

The "strange and wonderful" hose I think you are referring to goes from the intake pipe down to the exhaust headers, its about 2" in diameter and silvery on the inside. It's a hot air pipe - you don't live in Antarctica so you can safely rip the whole thing out and bin it - it's not doing anything useful anyway.

Great to hear you're loving the Suby.

As already stated, that pipe is pretty much useless in Sydney . . . maybe next time it snows there you should re-install it.

Enjoy your Leone. I too have an L series sedan, although it's not a Leone and it's faaaar from stock.
Monster Subaru sold to a good home!! Still a Subaru owner. Will try stay in the Ausubaru loop. Sorry

AND the strange and wonderful pipe has another use.
If you go sand driving and get sand flying around your exhaust (hard not to), this wonderful pipe will suck up the flying sand and deposit into your air cleaner until it is completely packed tight and fully clogged.

Magic piece of technology. :?
