Liberty Lift questions. Sway bar and Trailing arm mounts

G'day All,
A quick qeustion for those that have lifted liberty's.

I've just bought a 91 Lib already lifted (3 inch) and it has Outback Shocks and King Springs.

Q1: The rear sway bar is still fitted but not connected. (won't pass roadworthy like that) All the link pins etc have been removed and didn't come with the car. So what is my best course of action for getting all the bits I need? Will the standard Lib link pins be long enough or will I need outback ones or custom ones? Is Lib sedan rear suspension the same as the wagon?

Q2: I need some more room for the tyres on the rear and after reading the other forum posts on the subject I will be fitting Outback trailing arm mounts to get a bit more clearance....but from what Year model OB do the come, or doesn't it matter?

96-98 outback.

for the swaybar link pins you need to get your hands on some from a wrecker, and have them extended 3" to match your lift.

Gen2 OB went to Gen3 OB in 98 so be careful if looking at a 98 OB.

yeah 1996-1997 OB to be safe... But some 1998.
It'll give you better negative camber but wont give you extra lift/clearance..

Get outback sway bar & c links & mounting points all Outback assembly then you'll be ok. (already done that to mine)

Thanks again.

So you are saying that by getting the front trailing arm mount off a 96-97 OB won't move the rear wheels back away from the front of the rear guard at all? I thought I'd read people getting gains of 8 to 10 mm?

And can you clarify which bit the mounting point is in relation to the sway bar bits please. Do you mean the whole control arm ( or as they refer to it in the manual "rear lateral link" )

Mine is a Gen 1 and yours is a Gen 2 so will the outback swaybar etc fix apply to mine?

Trailing arm mounts will move the wheel back 8mm. Thats all they will do. Negative camber??

Outback swaybar wont do anything to accomodate a 3" lift kit. get your links extended.

This formum is a great source of info... and sometimes confusion

I got some link pins at the wreckers today ( $10 the pair) and will set about extending them. Looks like an easy enough task to do. Cut, weld, weld, grind, weld, curse, swear, re cut, re weld then paint

Am sourcing some TA mounts shortly.

Only a few more things now to sort for roadworthy the loooooookout
