It's an Irvin isn't it?

So are you gonna tell us what the upcoming mod is (that required the raised top bar)?

its irvin bullbars

here in perth
like i said...its based on their normal one with slight changes they have provided me with big sheets of ally already cut so i can finish my skid plate-bullbar work in my own time, caus atm i dont have much of it

the raised up bar was done because i simply prefer it up there... there wasnt enough room to do jack shit in the way of spotlights before and raising the centre bar and keeping the outside bars lower lookd rediculous

the bottom fibreglass moulding has been cut down and tacked on for the moment but behind that is extensive ally work and brackets and what not been put there so i can have a full width underbody ally skid pan.. all the provisions have been hidden because lets face it , it looks fugly and nothing is polished yet caus i still need to weld all the parts onto it,

basically it will be the width of the bullbar, extend down and towards the back of the car, concaves where the controll arms are(to allow for suspension travell), and access holes and covers for filters, oil changes etc etc. it will be ending just behind my gearbox sump, and will be attatched to brackets onto the chassis rails which have also been made. in total it will be a 3 piece setup so it can be disassembled easily for maintenance and work etc etc

as i start working on it photos and what not will eventuate

sound expensive to use that much ally. hope the huge underbody plate doesnt make it look bad/weird.

A full width guard is great on a rally car but I dont like them for offroaders. You lose too much ground clearance.

good: your engine bay will stay squaky clean in mud and everything will be well protected

bad: lose lots of ground clearance and its heavy to lug around..

Can i get some pics of the rear of your original auto guard? I still need to sort mine out

it would make more scene to use that combo in a lib dual range box and drop a l series 1.59:1 reduction set in for low low range ;)
