Question from States
Hello from sunny Florida,at least when were not in hurricane season.
Bought my 08 Foz about 6 months ago and wanted to off road it but the wife wasn't having any part of that so I bought my 01(4 months ago) off Ebay and
and proceeded to hydrolock the engine in a mud pit 3 months after i got it.
It blew apart 2 weeks later and wrecked a perfectly good day.
Got an 04 EJ25 and changed it out (no more deep water for me til I get a snorkel) and it's running like a champ.
Now I got a question,I want to make a set of top mount strut lift blocks but I'm not sure what the offset should be to keep the camber correct.
Anybody know how much per inch it should be?

I was actually filming when it happened.

It's on here.
I'd gone thru that pit 10 times at least and this was the first time I'd filmed it.

a quick search reveals....
personally i'd try to get the strut top right in against the inner part of the strut tower, and throw in as much positive caster while you're at it.
from here...http://www.ausubaru.com.au/showthread.p ... set&page=2A basic guide is 6mm offset per inch of lift

Depends on what you mean by off roading...
There are a limited number of sources for pre-MY05 subies, mostly Imprezas and Outbacks, but some Fozzies, though a lot of it is geared towards the rally enthusiasts.
Got my front and rear skid plates from Paul Ecklund at Primitive Racing. Paul ran the Alcan 5000 Winter Rally in a Fozzie this year so he may have some protection bits for you.
As far as lifts go, I had to go to those great guys at Ausubaru
to get the 2" lift kit for my 05 Outback. Though, I'm waiting for Dave to get back from holiday so I can get the install instructions.
There are a couple of guys on expedition portal who offroad Fozzies as well. Mostly desert stuff from what I've seen but off road is off road in my book! Have fun wherever you can.
