Hey all. Mechanic just finished installing the pan gasket and it looks like the auto has a hair line crack and thats where its leaking fluid. As much as i really like this car and wanted a subaru i cant afford to repair this problem and the other as i spent my entire budget on this car not including any repairs like this so unfortunately im going to have to sell her. If anyone is interested give me a call or send me a pm. I paid nearly 5500 and its had a new paint job. So make us a reasonable offer and its yours

why dont you talk to seagull about this?

the car has a GT legacy front cut in it. its not a twin turbo at all.

turbo automatic + big tyres + lift = shit fuel consumption. Sorry mate but that's just how it is.

Where are your tyres rubbing? They arent that big. You shouldnt have too many issues.

Also where is the crack in the auto? Can you see it? Sounds like possible BS to me, unless its in the front diff housing. I would be very surprised though. Its not like the car is making big power, unless the kid who bought it off seagull thrashed it

actually looking at your list mate things really arent as bad as they seem!

sounds like you need some bushes in the front end, and the auto repaired and you will have a good car. Dont give up on it too easy!

A quote from when you first got it......

"Went and had a look, being a subaru noob i let Neil tell me all about it. Said he would happily get in and drive to queensland in it, he was that confident in it. "

Maybe ask Neil for a bit of help to get it up to scratch.Surely can't be that bad.

OKay i need to clear something straight up, Seagull said when i picked this car up that he will no longer be on this forum anymore as he has an increased workload and his nanna is very ill. He said i can sms him but he wont be able to get get back to me for two weeks.. So there is no help there..

I have seen the leak and it seems to be coming straight out of the steel/alloy itself.. And a few of the bolts aswell weep fluid.. I cant afford a box removal and refit, wasnt banking on that to be done...

I can get used to the fuel economy, i would like it to be better but what can u do... I was told it was gonna be better than that but it isnt...thats life.... will just give someone a lift to work and split some of the costs..

The steering there is something def wrong with it, serious clunking, and serious rubbing.. Makes going into a car park really annoying.....

Everything else i can deal with.

I really like this car it just seems i cant get it to where it needs to be...

Marc

By the way i have no internet at the monent and am trying to get all this info and stuff on my mobile;)

pretty sure it's a TT tranny in there anyway, was swapped in for better offroad ability or something.

As for contacting Seagull, for sure, it does look like he isn't on this forum anymore, last activity was Sept 20th. But why not try contacting him on rslibertyclub.org - he was on there as recently as 8:51AM this morning. Give him a ring too.
You have some very legitimate questions to ask him and he should rightfully help you out as best as he can given the circumstances.

Thanks andrew but i cant see the point in trying to get anything out of him.. Another question is when you turn off the car it sounds really rough, okay its kind of hard to explain. When you turn off a normal car its usually quiet and smooth but when you turn off this car it just sounds wrong... Man this is gonna be a hard question to explain..

Will see if anybody knows what i mean..

MArc

Oh and if anyone wants a project they can have this car for 4.5k or will consider swap for ej22 converted l series...

mate why are you giving up on this so easily?

these are all minor issues that you will be able to sort out without spending too much.

I am sure Seagull would give you a hand with it. Have you even asked?

Hey guys progress report so far..

A few things i have not asked as they seemed unimportant compared to the rest was that my drivers window went up to far and my passenger window was an inch too low... I know its prolly a real super noob thing but i didnt realise they had adjusters on them, my father in law came round and sorted the windows out for me.. i found a part i needed amongst the few spares seagull threw in the car to fix the passenger door handle but since i got it when u unlock the door, both handles when used lock the door and u cant open it unless u hold it in the unlock position... Whats with that..

I have gone to see a transmission specailist and they will have a look at it for $45 so next pay im gonna cruise down and fingers crossed the leak is nothing serious..

I took the wheels off with some difficulty and got stuck into massaging the inside of the arches where it has been scrubbing.. It doesnt seem to scrub there any more but have found a couple of other places it scrubs when turning and going up driveways.. Hopefully a couple of mm off the guard with a grinder should do the trick..Seems to rub a bit on one of the body lift blocks but not too bad so im not gonna stress about that at this stage. It still makes a weird thumping sound when going round corners.. I jacked the car up and the steering is smooth as. Its really hard to describle but its like i have a tennis ball stuck to one park of my tyres and its all good till u reach the ball and then all good till you get to it again, sorry thats the best i can describe it..

And a question to some of you guys with lifted libs and 27's how bad is the scrubbing while off roading, im just thinking if i have these issues now on the road how bad is it gonna be offroad..

So if you have not guessed im gonna keep the car for now, get some things fixed and see if it grows on me, thing is i really like the car i just have to sensible with amount of money that gets spent on it vs the amount of enjoyment i get out of it.. If i can fix the few more important things that seem to be wrong with it i know i will be happier..

Oh and i managed to exchange a few sms's with neil the other day, didnt get much out of it as its really hard to explain problems in words..

Thanks heaps to everyones help and opinions so far, without this forum i would be lost..

Marc
