gear box/ clutch- dramas

Post by vidler » Sat Feb 11, 2006 5:04 pm

i am in the process of replacing the clutch coz that recently shat itself. I was having a hard time depressing the pedal to change gears etc and now we know why. Upon removing the gearbox from my car subarino and i discovered what "could" have been the problem :D :D

heres a pic, can any one tell me whats wrong?? :D

as well as that the pins were completely missing from the thrust bearing so was free to spin round the shaft, resulting in it getting SHAGGED out. The teeth on the pressure plate have been worn a bit from the bearing but will survive....

Have seen 1 from MY, L, Lib and Foz do this in the last 2 months. All were the same, full of dirt and NO grease.
