fully welded now, looks the same as the pics above but with some cold galv paint here and there. trip to bunnings to get some plastic sheeting to knock up a spray booth and ill be putting the paint on. Dropped the panels off today, getting em back 2morrow.

righto. got it painted today, 2 coats primer and 2 coats final where it was needed. have started putting things back in place and trying to remember where they go. havent got the panels yet, might get them 2morrow here's some pics

if you've lost or broken any of the twin turbo hoses valves solenoids or stuff you can have any of the leftover bits from my car. It doesnt use any of them anymore.

You've done a bloody good job there. Doesnt look like its been damaged at all.

Was it classed as a repairable write off before you started?

think thats all in order, just have to remember where all the vacuum hoses go. i take it you've converted your to a single turbo eh?

gonna borrow someone elses b4 to copy the vacuum stuff

yeah reapairable write off, not registered on revs etc etc. hoping they dont want it engineered or anything although it shouldnt have a problem. no bog or anything.

only made a bit of a mess with the joint sealer but thats all covered by stuff anyway so ill get away with it.

How did you go about lining the frame up!? A massive effort to get it right, I can only imagine.

positioned itself really, test fit the fenders, if those holes and the gap down the leading edge of the door is right then thats got the length and up/down set, then just measure from corner to corner and if that measurement matches its all square. that combined with lining up old spot welds u cant really go wrong

WOW Jay thats an awesome job....! Glad to see things moving ahead for you finally on your B4 project...I hope you get to keep it too....I always did have a sweet spot for those Gen III B4's and if I ever go back to a turbo sube daily driver, she will more than likely be a Gen III.

Cant wait to see her finished....

lookin good jay. well done. i didnt realise the front half just bolts together at the strut towers, until i saw this. i was expecting dodgy cuts and welds everywhere. but yeah awesome.

i can help ya with transporting a bonnet if u still need. uni holidays = good

doesnt quite bolt. its spot welded to the firewall, chassis that continues under the car, around the strut towers and down the side... fair bit of drilling/welding involved
