What's going on with everyone?!

Post by El_Freddo » Mon Jan 19, 2009 4:01 pm

G'day fellow Vic subi nuts!

So, what's been happening with everyone? This section of the forum seems to be the quietest... I know I haven't been the greatest at regular contact with the forum - that comes with dial up and 6 people that want to use it (among other things).

I haven't heard or seen Heath around here for a while, anyone know how he got on with his MY and the EJ?

What's happening with El Freddo - well, I have replaced the rear bearings in Ruby Scoo, only now to find out they're the cause of a whining in the rear. No rear diff in at the moment due to the search for the cause of the noise - but the diff was welded before it was pulled out.
Right up til christmas I had been working on Sunnie replacing the clutch, adding power steering and most of the AC hardware plus a bullbar and finishing off the door trim panels. Other than that I've been trying to get on here when I can... Oh, and putting up with my EA82, some clicky CVs and trying to sort out an EJ setup (currently on the backburner to earning money and waterskiing...).

I wanted to get a 4wd session worked out west of macedon - good for first timers. Unfortunately that didn't eventuate. Maybe in the near future, keep you posted.

Cheers

Bennie

Hey Bennie!

I'm just gonna go with it and keep the Vic area moving.

MY News! - Currently thinking very seriously about a 5sp swap into my '82 wagon, Except my expertise on anything beyond basic repairs is limited. i have been quoted $1100 including all parts even gearbox for the swap. Was actually thinkin of asking if anyone on here would be interested in the work if i supplied parts. cash and beers.

Older news - I have new 'zorst' fitted. 2" Y's back, i have purchased a couple of 32/36 carbs, still gotta get a kit put through the carbs and fit them though.

Thats the end of my news, anybody else?

Cynical.

Pretty busy with wedding planning coming up.. I do want to go adventuring but I dont have the time at the moment... Liberty is the same but do want to do some works on it... such as installing lift blocks, change trailing arms mounts & rip the carpet out to wash it properly (previous owner spilt 1 litre of laundry liquid behind the passengers seat and it stinks if its wet. & has a stain in passenger's floor)

If IF if my dreams come true, I would like to get either L series sedan or Brumby and that would be my off road car and I'll put the Liberty back to standard for "road car"

Cheers

I work in retail so pretty busy with the lead up to xmas, managed to get some forester rims to put on the liberty. MY wagon still the same, keeping an eye out for a secondhand lift kit to put in it then some bigger tyres hopefully in the next 6 months. Want to get out for a drive somewhere, hopefully in the next couple of months

I know where there are two lift kits on MY wagons at a wreckers, both are 2 inch I'm pretty sure. The wreckers is in epsom, benders - I can make more enquiries in terms of cost if you like, send me a PM with your number and I'll give you a call when I know a price, I'd be happy to remove it for you and drop it off during a catch up at some stage...

As for me, I've been up the murray in the gunbower forest for the oz day weekend, followed by a weekend of waterskiing/camping near Lima :D Good times, although I am a little sore from some "extreme" biscuiting

Cheers

Havnt done much in the last few months, fixed brocken cv shaft and gearbox mounts and fitted tonneau cover. Was in melbourne when the g/box mounts gave way so we got some ratchet straps and tied the gearbox to the crossmember. Got me home, worked a treat :)

But i have just brought mysef a new toy, KTM 250 exc, so plans for the ute are on hold for a bit and i gotta start saving again...

Sounds like a good gig, you're not being moved on early due to the economic situation?

That's terrrible - the bastards who started/spread these fires should be strung up by some part of their anatomy and left in the path of their fire.

On that, apparently they've found that a lot of the fires that have 'spotted' are from arsonists instead of embers... people are going around in the ember fall zone and lighting new fires!!!

In benders a guy was apparently caught lighting matches and flicking them into the grass, jumping in his car to then do it again in another area. I don't know what makes these people do this sort of thing.

I'm seriously looking at joining the CFA when I know what I'll be doing for the year.

All the best to those that are in the line of fire.
