
Just finished another EZ30 conversion, this time and EZ30R with aftermarket ECU.
The engine is a test unit from an 05 Legacy, it'd been in stock for quite a while as there were no ecus that could run them until recently.

I replaced the E-throttle with a ford unit from a common local car. It has a simple 2 wire IAC valve and TPS and best of all, it bolted straight on to the EZ manifold. Had to make an anchor bracket for it and budget wouldn't allow the cruise control to be re-used unfortunately.

I purchased a chinese GDB alloy radiator and modified it to suit the EZ top tanks. They are very cheap and the quality is equal to any local product at twice the price.


The engine went in on std mounts and was mated to a 2000 EJ25 gearbox with a HD exedy clutch. Fitment is pretty straightforward.


The returnless fuel rails were modified for returns. This was as simple as cutting the cap off the end of the rail and tapping it for 1/4 BSP thread. A barbed fitting then screws in and a parallel rail setup with an adjustable reg was used. Easy.
