Wheel options for Brumby
Wheel options for Brumby
I am trying to figure out what wheels/tyres to fit to my '92 brumby.
Unfortunately the crossbred performance option is a little out of my price range. I have seen various threads on the six stud conversion and was thinking about removing all four studs from the hub, re-drilling five new holes and inserting five studs. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so has any one done it?
Also my brumby currently has a 2" lift. How big a tyre should I be able to fit on without rubbing and without having to cut out the wheel arches?

It would be a lot of work trying to get wheels spot on center, six stud is easier and keeping the current stud patter is even easier.
The biggest tire i would recomend to use is 26" on a 14-15" sunraiser rim's without cutting or banging out the wheel arches.

5 stud wont work as the hole spacings will overlap. Go a 6 stud conversion.
have a quick search, i have a thread about it sumwhere.
early nissan pathfinder rims fit nicely.

With the 2 inch lift what sorta wheel are you running now, stock?
You can get 14 inch rims that will slightly widen your brumby's track and allow you to still maintain the stock 4 stud pattern and use a 27 inch diametre tyre for offroading. I don't know if you need to hammer a few bits here and there to stop 27's scrubbing but someone will if you're not already running them.
Cheers

They are either a 13' or 14' speedy wheel with a 26' tyre, I was hoping to be able to squeeze a bit larger tyre on just for that little bit of extra ground clearance. I am also getting a bit of body work done and a full respray so I was considering something a bit flashier than standard rims to go with the new paint job.
