your reaction to seeing a face mask?

Post by steptoe » Sun May 10, 2009 11:21 am

Just wondering what your reaction would be to someone wearing a face mask within your personal comfort zone given the current Schwine 'flu situation?

Would you wonder if the person is wearing it for their protection or have they got it!?

I walked into a busy medical centre on Saturday morning to find 30 people in front of me to see a doc. Despite how I was feeling at the time I did consider go buying a dust mask (pig pink? you know for breast cancer awareness?) and re-enter just in case some one has any kind of bug to share and thought maybe THEY would ALL think I may have Schwine 'flu - AND LEAVE !!!

I've seen people doing it even before the SARS outbreak stuff. Im not talking about out in the sticks either this was in a woolworths shopping store.

Didnt really worry me much, and I cant say I would ever do it to make people freak out thats just not right.

before you go around wearing a dust mask, note that they are dust masks and not airborne influenza masks.
