Hi. Well I didn't exactly want to start a new thread on this but I have a shock problem with my L too so I though I might slip it in here. I've got a Leone sedan with 2wd sedan shocks. No lift but high 14" Hankook RT01' s mud tires so I ran 2wd sedan shocks to get just a little more lift at the rear and then later fitted some King springs to help with the load carrying capacity. I bought the shocks new. KYB's but they topped out really badly almost as soon as I changed from the standard springs to the Kings. The internal stops must have disintegrated as it's really loud when there is no load in the car. Sounds like there are no rubbers on there or something.

I have some almost new Munroe Gas 2wd Sedan shocks lying around which I was going to try but I didn't want to destroy them as well if there is a better solution that someone could suggest. I was thinking of extending the top of the shock somehow so that the spring doesn't put any force on the shock when it's fully extended. Has anyone ever done this??

Regards John. Mine is the car in the wagon/sedan swapsies thread.

No you won't need any crazy spring/shock combo. Neither your wheel size or body lift really have anything to with your suspension.
Most people upgrade their suspension at the same time to something beefier but it's usually because they intend to go offroading so need something better and newer. The most popular combination are Kings Springs and KYB shocks.

What are "14 kings" ?
