my sedan

Post by freakazoid » Tue Sep 15, 2009 6:09 pm

Here is my 85 Leone sedan, it was a std fwd car until i found a cheap 4wd wagon on ebay (full of rust and rat poo but had good mechanicals and a lift kit).
Now its dual range 4wd with 3.9 diffs, lifted 2 inches and fitted with 14x6 desert rats with Kumho 27x8.5R 834. I was amazed how easy the conversion is, with the hardest part lining up the bolt holes.

Looks very clean for a 24 year old. Did you manage somehow to carry over the wagons rear bump stops? The real factory 4WD sedans did not get rear bump stops, must just break stuff instead? Seeing your pics and seen one same colour raised and QLD rego years ago, a a few other hotty sedans in the past, I'm beginning to realise I am partial to the L sedans in 4WD form. Although the wagons are more useful, practical they still do nought for me. Good work. Which holes doid you have trouble lining up?

Thanks for the compliments, yeah it has stood up pretty well although i am looking at doing some remedial rust work before too long. I didn't use the wagons rear bump stops i just have the rubber stops on the rear strutts. I have been told this one has a twin running around Ipswich way but i haven't seen it.
The rear sub frame bolts were the worst, some one had cross threaded one hole and the long bolts wanted to go in at an angle, nothing that a tap didn't fix though. Seeing as sedans seem to be so unwanted they are cheaper to buy and often in better condition than the wagons.:)

Yeah that was us, It was its first run out with the 4wd and lift kit installed. It was also the first run for the baja bug too. All went well but Mt mee seems to have all the decent tracks blocked off..........not to mention how bloody dusty it is there. Anyway a good time was had by all and i'm looking forward to seeing how the wheels work offroad.:D
