Mabey do a factory reset on the ECU (i think you leave the battery disconnected overnight?? somebody confirm?).
It might be having some slight issues with running a different engine now. (even tho they are the same model of engine theres bound to be some tiny differences in the sensor readings etc).

Mmm good question, no tacho and i cant count that fast, my guess is that it is about 1000 to 1200 rpmby the way.. what revs is it showing?
Air leaks.. i will investigate, throtle cable looks spot on.or air leaks? Sometimes if you have an air leak it'll idle fast.. or um throttle cable needs adjusting?
I think tis maybe the case as when it was first started it seemed to hunt. started fast then went low.... picked up speed then settled at a nice rate.Mabey do a factory reset on the ECU (i think you leave the battery disconnected overnight?? somebody confirm?).

The next time it started it was fast and seemed to stay that way.
I think perhaps the ecu is a little confused. I thought it would have settled though. I will try unplugging it again.

No no no.... :P
An ECU reset won't do anything. A vaccuum leak is a possibility though.
Wind the little screw under the throttle linkage out a bit, see if that can lower it. Also, loosen the two screws on the bypass air controller and turn the unit a bit until the idle smoothens out. Sometimes that can give a fast idle too.

I do recall Jays throttle body have an incorect idle adjustment on it. I know on mine and every other EJ throttle body i have looked at.... the top adjustment screw on the top of the throttle linkages... which appears to be the idle adjustment... in fact is not... and this screw should not be stopping the linkages returning to there rest point. I think that made sence. I know what i mean. Try that if u get me.
