2GEN Subaru Liberty Wheels

Hi guys,

I have a 1994 Liberty GX with 14" alloys with tyre size 185/70 R14. They're exactly like those in the first picture below.
Will 16" Liberty RX wheels with tyre size 205/50 R16 fit with no dramas? Would offset be the same?

Yep you can even fit 19" on Gen 2 Liberty!
I'm currently running 215/45 17" on mine at the moment.
Offset is the same +55mm

I was considering 17" from the 4gen liberty's but I don't want to mess around with ride height. It rides so beautiful now

and don't want to risk ruining the best thing about the car.

Just hope the 16" wheels don't increase ride height too much.

Oh, and although the offset is the same, will the wheels stick out a bit further?
Stupid Q I guess, as the wheel itself is wider so with same offset it should slighty right?

The actual tyre diameter will be almost the same (less than 3mm difference in diameter) or your speedo will read 0.5% too fast

What does the 88H mean when they state the size as 185/70 R14 88H.

Redbook shows the 16 inch wheels with 87V.

87V is the load and speed rating of the tyre, you just need to make sure they have the same or higher rating. The tyre placard on your car will actually telll you what the minimum load and speed requirements are.

the 17" rims are wider than 14/15" and yes it does stick out a bit but still inside of the car which is legal. Since the day i fitted 17" not looking back at all, and said to myself why i didn't do that earlier!
Noticed handling is lot better than 15" plus cornering etc
88h same what has been said above. I think higher the better?
In my Gen2 i have speedo correcter and its 99.5% accurate, if i didn't have the correcter fitted it will be abt 2-3kph out than factory rims at 100kph.

Any WRX rim will also fit, usually pick them up pretty cheap too, I've got 97/99 WRX rims on my Gen2, you'll find it handles so much better as you won't get the sidewall flex of the smaller/taller rims/tyres
