Knocking sound- Gearbox mounts?

Post by Kappage » Sun Nov 01, 2009 7:29 pm

FOr the past few weeks i have been hearing a knocking sound, it sounds like someone is under the car with a hammer. Ive been thinking it could be this because its coming from the area. I noticed it alot going round the burbs looking for a house in second...

could be coming from transmission or something.

Go under the car, jack the gearbox up and check if there is a 'crack' in the rubber then its a torn mount.

Where is the noise coming/happening? ie. acceleration or deceleration/while cruising etc etc
Cheers
