What has more preformance potential a ej20 DOHC or a ej25 SOHC?

I wouldn't touch the 2l, the Liberty is too heavy and you need to rev it to get it to go.
The 2.5l in a manual go ok.
Both aren't really performance motors thou, the usual exhaust and intake are about it.
Then look into a tune of some sort, then cams etc etc so ends up being pretty exxy.

Obviously the turbo 2.5 or 6 cyl will shit on them.

Yeh but I can get a 2L auto or 2.5 manual at a very very good price. So I would rather just get one than buying a oldler liberty and doing a swap.

I would go for 2.5 litre at the end of the day.
Better for hills, towing, have 5 adults in the car so fourth.
