L Series Problem

L Series Problem
My 1990 L series Carby 5 speed manual has a problem. When cold it’s runs like shit, it splutters like it is running out of fuel and stalls when you try to give it more revs. Its OK after it has been running for a while eg 10 minutes or in the afternoon after it has warmed up in the sun. I have already replaced the fuel filter, does anyone have any suggestions/ideas about what else could be causing the problem?
Thanks Craig

My first thought is the choke is not set correctly or not working.

agreed my l has the same problem and i know the choke is not working. I suspect the vacum switch is not opening the vacum to the choke,,, when i take the hose of and suck on the end, the choke opens and engine revs up,

Its a problem with all (or most) carburetted EA82s now days. Its not the choke - I had my carb and choke rebuilt with minimal results re this problem.

This problem stems from either a semi-flat battery, an exhaust leak or a vacuum leak.
