EA82T ____> Intercooler??

Post by Puma » Mon Mar 27, 2006 5:24 pm

I/m considering to mount an intercooler onto my EA82T engine.
Could anyone recommend that??
I've heard that the Turbo 'gap' would increase...

Yes, you might get a little lag but if you keep the plumbing within reason it won't be a whole heap. You'll end up with a little bit more HP but mainly peace of mind that your intake temps are lower. That makes adding some more boost a little easier :P

well i guess you probably shouldn't go and mount the cooler at the front of your beetle

I reckon the RS WAIC would be perfect in the bug.

I've got a managementsystem from Microdynamics, the EMS5, wich allows me to increase the turbopressure withe 0.4 bar turbopressure, so I think indeed that I should try to mount an intercooler, to lower the temp.

Yeah, your right..I wasn't planning to mount the intercooler at the front, but in de back, just like the radiator.
I've got an idea to keep the plumbing short and still got full cooling!
