Puma new here, VW BUG EA82T

Post by Puma » Mon Mar 27, 2006 7:46 am

Hi, I'm Marc from Holland.
I own a VW Bug with EA82T engine.
I've read allready lots of interesting information about this engine.
I want to upgrade the engine, so maybe you can make some suggestions!! :D
Here some pictures of the BUG!

Well I'm impressed, being a fan of the old dak dak. I've seen rotary engines or Porche parts in there, but thats's a first.

Nice conversion indeed.

Pity about the photos looking pretty ordinary, you could have got one of your pretty Niederlands girls stand close by with a nice smile for us Aussie guys !

I wonder how you treated the expected oversteer, plan your corners from 100metres before the turn ?

Nice stuff there! That beetle has attitude!

As for an engine upgrade in the Subaru stable the obvious choice is the turbocharged EJ20, any model is better than the EA! The later models get better again.

Good to see a Dutch person on these boards, I'm half Dutch myself :D

The bug has tipped 200 km with a 'short' gearbox.
Now i have a gearbox fitted with a long 4.
Also on board is a managementsystem from microdynamics wich adds a lot more horsepower.
I think the topspeed of the Bug should be no higher than 220 km an hour.
The body of the Bug is not that aerodynamic!!! :D
It.s not topspeed I'm looking for but 0 to 100 km.

Mate I made it my self , the fly wheels are done on a CNC machine , this is after the center is machined out and a new center tig weled into place .

I make all my parts as have a trade back ground .

Pm me you email adress & I send you some photos of my toys !
