Brumby 2'' lift steering link.

Post by velocityboy » Tue Apr 27, 2010 6:29 pm

I have had a look in the forums but I thought it would quicker to ask. When you do a 2'' lift on a Brumby what do you do about the sterring link that goes from steering column to the rack? Will the origanal work? Do you use one from another model or something?

the original will only work if you dont lift the body and then you will have short CV life

a couple of questions do you have power steering? and are you making the lift kit yourself? (if so 7mm of offset for every 25mm)

you can make one by using 2 early MY power steering knuckles and bolting together the parts that make it the right length for your car or going to an L series power steering knuckle

As Toonga said. Get 2 complete knuckles from an MY and pick the two longer pieces. Bolt them together and off you go.
Works fine and gets you through an engineers report if you choose to go this way.
Thats what I did.
P.S. Mine is power steering.
