Best image host for mac?

Post by El_Freddo » Tue Jun 08, 2010 7:24 pm

G'day all.

I've FINALLY got my mac. Love it  Only thing pissing me off is slowness of imageshack when trying to upload images. It took my first "mac" image about 10 attempts to upload and it finally got there tonight. The second image I'm trying to upload is already on at least the 5th attempt.

Its driving me nuts and I'd like this to happen quicker, the images have been down sized to about 500mb so it should be super quick to upload. I'm thinking that changing to another image host will do the trick, not that I really want to...

Any thoughts on this?

Cheers

500mb?? are you sure? that's ginormous! If you have a normal residential grade broadband internet connection a severely long wait for uploading images of that size is completely normal.
Aside from this, speeds of uploading images to an online host is most likely nothing to do with the type of computer you are using.

I like Photobucket, but cannot vouch for whether it works better/worse when using a Mac. Give it a shot.

Hey mate,

Congrats on the mac... I've had mine for a while and it's absolutely heaps better than any PC (in my humble opinion).

I use Picasaweb by Google to post my images on the web. It has nice little add-ons to both iPhoto and Aperture so you can upload straight from the mac app.

Takes nothing to upload provided you got a decent broadband connection. One thing you can even do is upload the hi-def file and share it with other people trying to get their hands on them ;)

Go to: http://picasaweb.google.com

Cheers,
Pedro.

Sorry AT you're right, they're 500kb... The imageshack site allows 1.2mb per pic as the max size, but I've not had a problem uploading pics before that were upto 12 meg in size, imageshack just down sizes them but does take a little longer to do it.

I've now got my hands on a hot "little" 15 inch macbook pro with the i5 processor. Very swish! We're on a mobile broadband account with good reception. I'm really wondering if it is imageshack as they seem to be offering accounts with them where you pay $10 or more for your account which from what I understand gives you a certain capacity or something - this was never around when I started with them a few years back...

Painful. I've got a few pics I'm dieing to share, like my frozen oozing coolant and my new exhaust...

I guess I'll try out the google one Pezimm and see how it goes, you'll know if its working or not ;)

Cheers
