car battery dumper in for surprise
Recently spotted a used car battery in a car park, all on its own. Rather clean and shiny with NRMA sticker on it, terminals clean too. Obviously left there as previous owner had a flat battery and saw best fix was another.I see abandoned batteries as lunch - as in their cash for scrap value. Threw it in the beast, stuck it on charge and... it is good strong battery on the load tester, better than the battery in the Brumby.
My guess is someones alternator is crap and already killed the new battery.

About $10 worth of fishing sinkers

You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.

im collecting all the ones we have a round here and send them to a mate who runs a battery shop, considering the things he does for us im happy for him to make a dollar

last time I traded in some batteries I spied a neighbouring tennant had dumped in a skip bin (before he did the runner), the rate was 43 cents a kilo for under 100kg lots, above 100kg the rate jumped to 48 cents. Mid size ones are about 15 kg, whereas the fatter ones were closer to 25kg, littlies like standard in old subes about 11kg. Gotta love the ones that offer price per battery don't ya !! I got about 40 bucks worth outta that guys bin

hummmm, where in WA could i make the most out of my old batteries... I have about 15 of them incl about 5 big boat/truck ones accumulated over the years:) might as well make the most out of it then...
