I have 215/75/15 on my Liberty with Outback struts and heavy duty king springs and they just fit.

Here is a tyre calculator http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalcul ... ion=submit It said you run 225/60/16 if that is right my tyres are 1inch bigger than your standard size
If you go 225/70/16 that will give 2 inch diameter bigger than standard diameter so it will give you 1 inch lift if that makes sense
215/75/15---27.69 in mine
225/60/16---26.62 in your std
225/65/16---27.51 in
225/70/16---28.40 in

I don't know about Outbacks with the plastic around the guards tho
Your problem will be fitting in the guard

hi my wheels are 215/60/16 i think they are the standard wheels bcoz i have never changed the size of the wheels everytime i bought new wheels i just got the same size that were already on there so thats better coz i will get even more lift in thats regard,so even with a lift kit will i still have to flare the guards?thanx for your reply....

With 215/65/16 that will give you 1 inch in diameter higher that,s 1/2 lift it will go under the guard
You wont need to flare the guard
With the plastic trim you cant flare guards anyway.
You know the speedo will be out with bigger tyres.
