EJ starter motor differences
EJ starter motor differences
Hi, are there any difference between starter motors on the EJ cars? Like difference between auto and manuals? Mine is from a 97 impreza so will they fit from older liberties and imprezas?
There's also "reduction drive" ones which are much more powerful and better to have, but I think there's no difference between them and normal ones as far as interchangeability goes.
Yeah auto/manual are not interchangeable.

Manual and Automatic Starters will not fit.
If its an EJ manual - will work on most EJ'd Subarus including Impreza.
I'm sure the back part of the starter will be interchangeable, the brushes are as low as $25.
Cheers
