If you like Scott.. run your original alternator down to the shop and we'll suss out what's wrong with it and rebuild it so you can refit it
As for your accel cable.. maybe look at those aftermarket cruise control setups

got bored so thought i would put some stickers on. and ofcourse the ausubaru one!
pretty happy with it.
took me about 30min to decide where to put it but came up with one of Guy's ideas and having it flowing the way the stripes go.
i wanted it on the back windscreen bottom left corner but wiper would of eventually made it come unstuck i reckon

oh and put my rear mudflaps back on, they are a little slanty but do the job i guess
cheers

hey guys, been a while since i have posted in this thread but im thinking of not selling the big tourer but need to spend a little more coin to get her good.
i am just wondering, i changed the rear springs to standard king springs since they didnt have a higher option cause the back was still saggy. so did that with no issues, it is stiffer a bit BUT when offroading or even speed bumps it likes to bounce a couple of times up and down then settle.
would this be due to the shocks needing replacing, which im happy to do since they are over 20 years old OR is this due to the 4" lift????
i wouldnt of thought so since its just a body lift but i may be wrong.
any answers are helpful
cheers

Yeah new shocks will help with that but it will develop slowly again with offroad use.
I bought my rear KYB's new but my car does that again now. It's been years since I bought them but it saw alot of hardcore offroading when I first got them, probably buggered them.

hey mate,
Yeah that sound like the shocks. But aren't you selling your car? Don't worry about it for that price, its pretty cheap.

yeh gotta be the shocks, sounds like you need some heavy duty shocks with a nice slow rebound...
just standard ones would go again quickly whith rough use...
coupla extra $$$ would get some h/duty ones...
or go air adjustable for similar if not less dollars...
cheers

Ooooohhhhh...looks like a lot more rust there than you think,,,I'd say she been all over the beach and through the surf...Will need more than sandpaper and will be inside the chassis channels and sills. I would be revaluating whether its worth spending more dollars on or picking up another cleaner body somewhere. Just my thoughts,,but the rust looks major and there are places that you can't see,

Nice Scott.. I had one of them (manual too) and loved it but had to remove the diesel and fit the 4.0ltr Toyota V8 then it was worth it. The diesels had many problems with head gaskets.
