Yeah it was only about 12c per litre when I started driving, then again a new Falcon was only $4,000 & I used to earn $38.83 for a 45 hour week as a 17yo, multiply them all by 10 and you've roughly got today's prices..........Probably goes the same for back then.

You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.

Yes mate, at an age where I should not be playing with toys, let alone still building them, I think the XB had just come out around that time.

Now you're making me feel old.. hehe My first year apprenticeship earned me the weekly sum of $125 and fuel I couldn't afford as there was too many other things to spend my money on

Well looks like you've got your toy now so you shouldn't have to do anymore

Bugger me,
when I first started work I earnt 28 pounds a month and that was for a 48 hour week and fuel was one shilling and three pence a gallon
However I think I had more in my pocket at the weeks end plus leisure time was a whole lot simpler like going dancing oh and of course romancing eheheeh.
