I took the 'paper work' upto Pete's place this morning, and he said he would get it booked for collection today (Monday 6th Dec).
When you get the parcel you may find that the sender is Electro Power Engineering - that's Pete's company so you now have his name for reference:D
Looking good mate.
Oh and Paul - Bet your hoping for rain today !

It's looking like 1:0 to me mate !

yep like days of our life but worse
I tried something today
it was very sucessfull but rather stiff suspension wise.
I think I need 4 inch strut tops to get away with it either that or shorter L series shocks

pictures of what was done to the tops tomorrow

It will be stiff if you have the Brumby's torsion bar wound up to the top.. wind it down for normal/daily driving and wind up when putting heavy loads in the back.

That's right Paul - my thoughts exactly.
Toonga - those L series shocks, did you get them from a 2wd L series or a 4wd one? The 2wd L series have longer shocks by about 1 or 2 inches. So if you've got the 2wd drive ones and you want them sorter look into the 4wd ones.
Cheers

as far as I know the torsion bar isnt wound up but I will check tomorrow. I only did one side and that was the result so it came back out and the original shock went back in.
the shocks came from a 4WD wagon but Im pretty sure it is the way the top of the strut has been changed that is making the whole shock even longer.

Ok so the torsion bar bolt in true form for this brumby won't move either way
thats where it is sitting as my phone camera is a piece of fecal matter those were the best shots I could get
this is what the shock looks like when compared to a brumby original
they came out of a wagon the same wagon my rear discs came out of

That block you've got on top of the L's strut to mount it to the MY - can you turn it upside down to help "shorten" the L's strut?
Just a thought on that one.
Also, the torsion bar adjuster bolt can be really stiff to move - get some WD40 onto it then a big breaker bar - I've got a 1 metre bar and it works hard to move the torsion adjuster bolt on the trailer I've built. Its probably the same for yours. I think there's an access hole in the tray so you can do it from above rather than with a short bar from under the brumby
Dunno what you'll do if it happens to snap though...
Cheers

Bennie no hole in the back of the tray in the brumby unless I drill one the same size as the bungs for the tray. the MY wagons have a hole with a bung under the rear seat and all I ever had to do was get a wheel brace (cross brace) on to it an it would move without any problems
I thought about turning the tops upside down but I dont think I will be able to get to the bolts if I do that.
as for WD40 I drowned it this morning and no luck and I cant get my rattle gun in there because its too small a space
Im going to leave it for now

Toonga I've had the same problem with the torsion bar....imagine how I felt growing up always hearing about the brumby's ability to be "wound up" and then I get one myself give it a go and get nowhere haha...I have tried penetrating oil multiple times and have the same limitations with the rattle gun, if anyone comes up with a solution it would be great to hear because I would love to wind it up for trips off the road

Jules.. keep dousing it with Penetrene everyday until you come to Perth again. Then we'll get it on the hoist and use the large powerbar. If it breaks, we have the old rear suspension from the 84 Turbo Leone sedan that we can replace with.

Suggest that you douse liberally with Diesel if this wont loosen it - then your buggered !
Heat of course always helps - but not sure if it would cause damage elsewhere
Jules - how did you load / what did you use for your latest sig. pictures ? - If you can add a couple or 3 bikini girls in there then that would give me a real stiffy.

When you get around to making an access hole in the floor please post up measurements in this 54 page dialogue.
Does anyone actually know how much height gain can be had from this duck beak adjuster?
What sort of mechanism is it, like how does it work ?
Think I may have gained or dropped only 3mm either way not sure how far is too far or limits
