error code 35...
error code 35...
just finished putting the engine back together and check engine light is on, so going through the error codes from ecu and it's giving 22 for the knock sensor which i've replaced and seems to be joined into a different width wire along the line so thinking it's a wiring issue i need to fix and then No. 35.. which is a "purge control solenoid" apparently? i have 0 idea what or where this is so any help as to how to rectify it would be appreciated.
cheers

The purge solenoid is underneath your manifold on the righthand side of the inlet pipes. I would check that you have plugged it back in (I'm guessing it's after you fitted the other manifold?) or I have one here if you want to try out?

it is the little box connected to the blue plug correct?? if so any insight into which of the two pipes that connect to the top goes where ?? i remember stupidly pulling it off and not taking note of which pipe came from each connection.

Yep.. the little solenoid with 2 wires followed by a blue plug.
As for the way the pipe goes, I don't think it matters as it's either open or close (ECU controlled) but one rubber pipe goes to the charcoal cannister line and the other to the small vacuum pipe undernearth the brake vacuum line on the manifold.

Gee told me to move this from its hiding place if I get the chance - just mount it to the strut tower and lengthen everything that goes to it. This way if the little bugger dies its easy to access, especially if you have a turbo EJ *looks at paul*RSR 555 wrote:Yep.. the little solenoid with 2 wires followed by a blue plug.

checked wiring and piping and think she might be dead
is there away of testing it to check for sure i.e checking resistance with multi metre and if so would you happen to know the specs? also paul ill get those sensors and injectors back to you when nic picks up the flywheel from you.

I'm not sure about a resistance test but I'm sure there must be a way.. have a butchers hook at the WSM. I tend just to swap and see but I have a few spares here.
Nps about the injectors and TPS
like you say Nic can bring them when the flywheel work is done. BTW.. you guys coming this weekend? I'll see if the flyweel is done and if so I'll bring it with me.
