answer is negative, not had experience but can see it will happen. I did convert from auto to manual. the auto had cable enter on LHS, manual has entry RHS. I did not change cable but rerouted it and it is almost too long now and causes some internal drag giving delay in readout on acceleration.
If you have manual maybe try for an automaatics cable to stop the pull or drop the dash 2" to suit

thanks mate i probably shouldve thought of that when i was lifting it, i have to pull the dash out anyway to fix the heater so i guess thats an upsideTOONGA wrote:just pull the cable out of the catches that hold it in place under the bonnet this should give you enough play to get it to plug back in the speedo cluster.

are all the brumbys the same cable or is it the year that i need[email protected] wrote:yer mate i had the same issue on my l series.... i just went and got a brumby speedo cable cause there longer. Got it from the wreckers and it works a treat
thanks heaps for the heads up about the price diff, i will be sourcing one from a wagon for sureTOONGA wrote:they are the same part as the MY wagons (manual wagon that is) from 1982 -1992
it may be easier and cheaper to source one for a wagon, as when the word brumby comes up in a wreckers or parts store for some reason the price is way more expensive.

You dont have to pull the dash to do it, but if you have to anyway good luck to ya!! I have to do the same on my L.. just waiting for the right time, who needs a heater in summer anyways haha
