Great minds think alike. I'm going on Holidays too on Friday 25th July, next Friday. I'm heading up to my sisters at Gayndah, then across to see the Sooby boys in Gympie, then over to Rainbow beach, drive down the beach to Tewantin, across the barge and over to my Brothers place at Woodford then home. Just me and the Chihuahua. Got 4weeks off and will be spending about a week of it at Alexandra Headlands. I too will be on and off the air so to speak.

Competition Prize Presentation.........

Post by 1111giles » Sun Jul 18, 2010 8:35 am

Hi Folks,
Just thought that I should post comments on the 'Prize' Hylton recently won in the 'Guess the Aussie Product' Competition.

Basically....... we have eaten Hylton's prize............................sorry Hylton.

We went for Cobra Beer in the end - excellent with Curry.:)
For starters,
Poppadums, Onion Bajis and Yogurt and mint cooler sauce. (ryeita??):)
For mains,
Chicken tikka balti with extra corriander, with Pilau rice and a couple of chappatties.:):)

Got to give it 10/10.:D

Full to busting right now plus there is plenty left over for another meal through the week hehehe !
Not at all bad for 2 of us @ £15.80p

Here is the food & Beer.

Cheers
Giles.

Getting on with it

Post by 1111giles » Thu Jul 22, 2010 5:14 am

Ok folks,
Back to matters relating to cars.......
Here is the latest on the Brumby cut, its pretty well dismantled now, engine, box and most salvageable items now removed.
Just need to find a slot in the garage to store it all :)

The front lower panel (valance) and cross member will be chopped off and put on scruffy as will the Oz engine, Scruffy's engine is going into Scooby.
As will all the aircon goodies.
All this will be taking place over the next 2 weeks or so, Howard and Richard up at HDC will be doing the lions share of this for me as I dont have the time myself ...... and I'll be on my Jollyday's.:D

Here are some piccy's to be going on with....

When I get back we will decide what to do with Scruffy keep him or sell him...
would be a good project car for someone.
Cheers
Giles.

Watch out for the rest of the Aussies around the UK come looking to join their half cut Ozzie in some illegal past times :)

From what steptoe see and would also hoard

BMC and booster, sunsvisor, mirror, front brakes, lower control arms, all nuts and bolts left over. If you not kep doors, at least the door handles, they are same all around four doors and all fit in drivers door which I have now broken two in 12 years. Seat belts.

Over here if you call some one halfcut it usually means that they are very drunk. Your countrymen are very welcome to join me for a drink or three anytime!
Dont worry anything that is worth saving will be unbolted and saved. The doors are already stashed away as is the glass. :D:D
I have so much stuff I recon I could nearly build another truck from scratch!

All good eh?:D

I did see that one but it looks like the demon rust has bitten a little too far into it to be of use to me:( The seller has dropped the price and has noted on the ad that there is rust in the floor :( :( Looks like a lot of work or break for parts.
Here it is....

The one I have in my radar is actually even further south (than that green one) and has an impeccable history -if it does come available then I WILL be making a move for it ! :D
As for the wheels - I dont think the cycle's wheels would take the load ! heheh:mrgreen:
