Seen on TV puzzle

Post by 1111giles » Sat Apr 02, 2011 5:18 am

Ok Gang !

Picture the scene. Wifey has just called me down stairs because my tea is ready. having just had a 'mare' of an avro (see picking up the lingo) on the phone to several of my customers some of whom just cant see the benefits of shelling out £100K plus on new machine tools !
Ok so I have had enough and am looking forward to my tea.
My (very soon to be 13yo) daughter is sat on settee next to me watching Kids TV which is loud and annoying me.
Wanting to keep the peace I tuck into my tea only for my daughter to shout "SUBARU DAD !" at me. (she is a car nut after all)
I look up and sure enough there is a Dark metallic brown or maroon Leone 2 door Coupe 4 headlamp version which is in full camera shot and is sat in a line of traffic whilst the TV film crew are filming the TV show being shown on UK TV.
Nice retro looking thing it was and obviously the pride and joy of its owner. In front of it was a Discovery 3 (new box shaped thingy) and to the side a police car.

Ok the TV show is filmed in Australia called Prank Patrol (theres a UK version as well) and the only clues I can give you guys is that its a nice sunny day (yeah I know they are all nice sunny days for you guys !) and a public bus is in shot its destination board reads St Hildas Beach.
Here's the million $ question ........anyone able to ID this car from the above? Or know anything about the area / location?
You guys managed to put me intouch with my long lost buddy Andy Tweedale so this should be a piece of cake !
I'd love to know

I guess it could have said that on the bus - that was just a quick flash so I could have got it wrong I suppose. Maybe someone will come on here and confirm there is a Hilda beach ..... maybe.

Anyone in St Kilda Beach area know about this car ?

The mystery continues........anyone watch Kids TV ??

More than likely it was St Kilda's but some times TV shows, like that one thats set on the beach here Summer Bay (the real beach is Palm beach) change the names of places for 2 main reasons, to keep the crowds away and video bombers. having searched for St Hilda's Beach google / maps could only find references to St Hilda's School for the depraved schoolchild.

I will keep a look out for a complete coupe down this way if you want Giles. I have seen one here in Bunbury, all original 4 headlight in silver and I know where there is one in Perth. :)

Had my eye on a well aged and rounded purple haired lady with a gold two door four headlamp dig dash 2 door MY years back - for the car - then lost track. Never were a common sight. That show title does not register with me as local telly, maybe digital or satellite program, only. Giles is slowly getting the hang of things, excepty the typo :)
St Kilda came to my mind also.

Gues we wait for a rerun in UK for you.

Well spotted and announced by junior !
