automatic transmission trouble code 94???
Having just done a gen3 gtb twin turbo conversion to my outback, all is running well except the gearbox ecu is spitting out code 94.
I did the little rain dance to call the ecu gods to release the codes and the power light flashes 9 longs blinks, 4 short blinks, pause then repeat.
Does anyone know what code 94 means? The FSM i have lists codes only up to 83 for the transmission...
The gearbox appears to be functioning perfectly, it shifts quickly and smoothly, the converter locks up normally, the sport shift functions all work correctly, the fluid level is correct. I really can't see anything wrong with it...

after a bit more research, it looks like the lateral g sensor is part of the VDC system, which my car doesn't have...
If i could find which pin of the tcu connectors should be connected to the sensor, i could probably fudge a voltage to keep the system happy, but i can't find a wiring diagram that shows this mysterious lateral g sensor

I cant find a reference to the Lateral G Sensor in my FSM, only a Yaw sensor (which is presumably the same thing)
There is no connection between the yaw sensor and the TCU. But the TCU does tap into the signal from the steering angle sensor. Could it be this?

Yaw sensor (6pin) plugs into VDC box plug F87 pins 63, 64, 65, 66, 67 and 70.
The ABS G sensor (3 pin) plugs into the ABS box plug F49 pins 30, 6 and 28
One wire goes from the ABS box plug F49 pins 3 & 31 (joined togerther) to the TCU plug B55 pin 21
I believe the wire from the ABS to the TCU tells the TCU to open the transfer clutch (to make it act as FWD so the ABS can control wheel speed independently
This in your case (because you have VTD) will make the centre diff act as an open diff.

thanks for that. My problem is that I don't have a VDC box, and i did see any spare plugs for it either when i had the entire loom out.
Anyway, I think i've solved the problem. I've taken the power indicator globe out of the dash! haha. - the gearbox is functioning perfectly well, and until i can understand more about this error code, i don't want the power light flashing away all the time. Also, i have to take the car over the pits soon, they may fail it if they think it is throwing error codes.
