Not so easy with an 01 Foz. Has the transponder chip in the key.

I'm in with my Emily (not guyphs ;) ) and a few other mates of mine who should get back to me..

Im definitely keen to have another run in the sand with Ruby with the EA still in it haha..

Ill also take up the sandboarding via tow rope offer :D except the rains we've just had doesn't make for good sandboarding :( ill still try it tho!

Over $400 to get it sorted too.

I miss my Land Rover...could start it without any keys at all.

I lived in Lancelin for a couple of years and if you get a windy day followed by a really wet one (like today) there is nothing like it, nobody else goes and the dunes are fairly hard and smooth as glass, Brilliant, there are plenty of big rolling flattish areas at the south/west end of the dunes near the tip for towing, nothing like grabbing an old bonnet & mattress or lounge with 3 people scooting behind the car zooming around the trees :p
So don't let a bit of crappy weather put you off, the thing you need to be careful of is the winter surges on the beach, similar to Two Rocks but even more severe.

A hint for sandboarding in the wet is take a roll of shade cloth, also because the dunes in Lanno are up to 80% lime it's never been a great place compared to raw sand dunes where a cardboard box will suffice, it's pretty much laminex or nothing and I've found cheap WD40 type stuff is much better, faster and easier than candle wax, if you explore the S/W end of the dunes you'll find a huge sand mine where they sell it to farmers to lime their paddocs.

Maybe we can head in from the south end & work our way north entering near the tip or the cement works...discuss it on the day.

Will do Dann :) thanks for letting us know.

BTW.. is the radiator fan coming on? and is there any moisture under the oil filler cap? Smoke could be just the engine/exhaust because it's getting a lot hotter.

You guys are going to have to stop inviting that silly old fart with the navy blue Impreza, I can't believe how badly he keeps getting bogged.............Thank god for Nissan's with winches or it would have been under water and back by now.
I owe you one Alxx /Davo
No pics this time but never seen Lancelin so soft.

come to the conclusion that i was just missing bout 2/3 of the coolent though a leak in the bottom hose and the smoke was just steam because it was so hot, having half oil did realy help too, gee i'm trying to kill this engine ay haha (i'm not just forgot to do my weekly check).
Cheers,

Yeah.. that "old fart" in the dark blue Impreza just keeps showing up and causing havoc pretty much like that other old bastard that keeps showing up in a different Subie everytime we go out :p Damn I'm over this getting bogged shit :???: But Tom.. if you ever call Dave (D3V1L) Alex again, then I'm guessing he will never pull you out of the bog again :(

I think the EA's need a lot more (or less coolant and oil) before you kill those engines but the quicker you do it, the quicker it's EJ powered

Shit !!! sorry JohXX ops Davo, I'm about as good with names as I am with soft sand:twisted: but at least I give it a go lol.

I've got to hit my camera with some contact cleaner cos the bloody lens is stuck, if no luck there I'll have to fire up my laptop & stick the card in there to see if any of that filming worked, can't remember if I got myself heading up the beach at 45deg for 500m before I came to an ugly stop:D

Yeah Paul, we'll have to show these young whipper snappers how to grow some balls & head for the sandy soft yonder & let those sumps feel the nice cool sand so they can dig away with whatever they can find cos you left your new shovel at home:rolleyes:
