subaru red...

Post by skrewd » Fri Apr 29, 2011 7:45 pm

G'day guys, im just wondering is there more than one colour red (body paint) in the l series range. i need a new rear drivers side door for a 90mdl and hoping that theres only one red. yes i do realise that paint fades but i can live with a bit of faded paint as long as its the same sort of red....

Not sure how many variants of red Subaru made in the L Series but I can tell you for sure by now none of them will look the same now days.. red is the worse colour for fading.. it's starts the day it leaves the factory floor :(

Have yoyu got a colour code number on a sticker under the bonnet?

I have red 86 model with a door from my 85 on it and blends in so well no one notices. There was a darker 'red' later in the L series like maroon, mine is more blood red

My paint code sticker - the silver one near bonnet prop hole or rad support? is just silver - no code. 2 reds for 85, 86 . Andy was there just one red option on 4GLTA to refine my paint colour? Flare Red sounds good :)

Well im as happy as a pig in S$#@, I got my red door thats identical in colour and shape but the window is slightly different. Im wondering if it is off a sedan.?? Anyway im not that fussed as the colour matches perfect and its got to be easier to find a window than another red subaru, Plus i got him to throw in a bash plate for a little extra...

It lines up perfect along the drivers door pillar and along the roof line, but the angle of the back pillar and glass is different. Theres roughly 60mm gap at the top then it angles down to the right width at top of door. Maybe i should also mention the door i just got has power windows and my subie dont
