Go to enzed and get a 1 T piece for it, if only
using the 2 aftermarket gauges and use possible
2 T's and some hose to relocate and use
the original aswell, so you could have all 3 in
a remote locating.

The stock sensor is located on front, in the centre
at the bottom of the block.

There should be an unused bung on the front of the oil pump

This is an oil pump from an EA82 with a oil pressure gauge and an oil pressure switch

If you dont have a factory oil pressure gauge, you will only have the small sensor (that is directly right of the filter) and there will be a bung in the place of the large cylindrical sensor. I also recall there may be a bung on the underside of the pump as well.

All you need is the right sized adapter for your gauges

Thread tape will be fine, as long as you use stuff that is suitable for oil and petrol. I think it may be pink?

And an allen key that is a very snug fit - if not you'll more than likely round out the bung.

Might need a quality tool too, otherwise you might break it - those bungs are held tight!

if your using an aftermarket electrical guage don't use too much thread tape as the guage usually earths through the block and the tape can sometimes stop this meaning guage no worky,

It doesn't matter, the thread still makes contact.

Old wives tale.

NPT or BSP threads are a taper.

The factory oil pressure light is beside the alternator on top of the block.
Here is a t piece with an oil pressure gauge sender and oil pressure switch

Hey Gannon,

Did that pressure sending unit clear the bracket for the power steering pump or did they have to twist it around some more?

This is how I've done it (mechanical setup): Got the hot coolant (engine out, heater in), added a plumbing T piece with some barbed/spurred nozzles to fit it in the line.

Image

^ Temp unit doesn't work anymore, I presume the cold of the snow, plus freezing my coolant last year killed it in the end...

Image

^ Slots very nicely between everything around it :D

Cheers

That motor was going into a VW so power steering wasn't needed.
