i would like to pick your brains and ask what the best oil is to run in ya diff, i would like to know the thickest you can use without causing dramas....thanks

Just curious, why are you keen to use a low viscosity diff oil? Have always used the std oil, and with all that things that have broken / blown up, have yet to a diff let go.

Are you trying quieten a worn diff?

i changed the oil in it 2 weeks ago (oil in it was not looking good when it come out) and a whine appeared went back to work and changed it again but the whine is still there. maybe i just never noticed it before i changed oil the first time...:confused:

Penrite LSD 85W140.

Have changed many diff oils to this with great results.

I'm running an LSD gear oil in both the rear diff and the gearbox.

The gearbox seems to change smoother since doing this. Reason for last oil change was a "sunken" Ruby Scoo :(

thanks guys i might give the 80w 140 a go and see if that makes a difference
