If you are meaning furniture etc, op-shops are your friend. Brand new stuff is nice, but 2nd hand goods do the same job, at a fraction of the cost, and the profits go to charity too.

G'day Alex,
check out this link and join one of the groups near your new abode, I belong to the group in Canberra and have received some good gear as well as given away stuff it is surprising what you can pick up and it also helps keep stuff from been sent to landfill.
Good luck in your new endeavours.

Garage sales are also good fun!

You don't have to have an ultra modern "every thing matches" set of furniture - it just has to do the job to get you started ;)
