knock some sense into me PLEASE

Post by Alex » Mon Jun 27, 2011 11:21 am

sold my patrol over the weekend for a very very plump amount.

now i need a family car for my misses to drive around, must be reliable and super safe.

Something no more than 10k.

Ive found myself getting very interested in mitsubishi 380s and veradas, as well as nissan maximas.

Subarus hold their value too well, for 9k i can get a 04 maxima Ti with 100km and every bell and whistle, v6 etc

Bloody hard choice. The only subaru alternative is a gen3 lib, but i already have one, dont really want two of the same car in the garage.

give me options! im not tied into subarus tho!

or just slap me

we have had a V6 magna in the family for about 12 years. Its been a brilliant car if you can live with a front wheel drive V6

Spend 10k on an L series, it'd be cool :)

Nah you are right, you can probably get a newer, lower kms car looking outside Subaru. But then again, what's wrong with two Gen3's in the garage! Get a nice wagon :)

Yeah Alex, go a Foz if you want a safe car for the Fam.

I'm currently doing up a 98 Outback Limited with "extra go" if you're interested? I know it's a bit older model but would keep out'n'bout with us

I bought an 04 Forester for the mrs when we found out we were expecting. Believe me, a wagon is what you want if you are putting a pram in the back. The only downside is the reduced leg room with the reverse facing seat on the back seat.
But if you put it on the left hand side, and you always drive when there are both of you in the car, it isn't a big deal

Leg room is slightly better in the Outback

mate, if i had my choice, itd be another WG grand cherokee. They have everything in them, the 4.7 v8 was awesome, and the best thing, in a high speed roll over, they hold up extremely well. If we were in any other car when we got t-boned (other driver ran stop sign), me n my family wouldnt be here right now! Just my 2cents

Glad someone did!

I don't see the problem with two Gen3's - at least diagnosing a problem sensor will be easier  Just so long as the missus a) doesn't know and b) doesn't have the car out somewhere...

I haven't thought about the next family car as we've got Ruby Scoo and the VT commodore that's just had a major service and is running very well - can't justify getting rid of it yet! Kez and I will probably still have the same cars for at least the next 5 or so years!

Cheers
