Jules, personally not a fan of the desert rats on a vortex, I don't know why, I'm struggling to work it out, but I think it could be due to their simple "agricultural" design/ruggedness on the "refined" vortex...

Yeah it was either these or a custom set of those 17inch alloy rims that got that poor young brumby owner bagged off the board

I've got a pair of 3inch from strut tops and some 2inch blocks and bolts. was going to make a set and sell them off. Can't donate but open to offers:)

It is official by the way, that the engine has either blown a head gasket or a cracked head, as the oil cap now has the dreaded clag glue coating.

Seems with the 14's are too close to the rear guards. occasionally the dreaded rrr-rrr-rrr-rrr of tyre wear in the wrong place rears its ugly head.

I have a solution and when I've either succeeded or failed I will post pictures.

It involves the suspension and the twin holes in the trailing arms but as well a little experiment

Since you know the engine has a blown head, Did you consider cemweld? A friend of mine bought a charade with a blown head gasket and couldn't pay to get it fixed a week after he bought the car. We poured a bottle in and it gave him about 4 months of daily driving.

nope as it fixes leaks that are not leaks. the heater and radiator are in good condition, I want them to stay that way.

the engine will get replaced after its next slow drive to Perth.

The harness is done, Thanks big time to Subarino ( I just need to divert funds for the payment) and soon I will have a hybrid EJ/EA AWD box with a diff lock (once again the need to divert funds to pay)

Then I have to organise a 2 inch lift kit, but until then the rear suspension fix is the first thing to deal with.

Once again anyone wanting to donate an EJ exhaust system or anything else that might be needed it would be much appreciated.

Im a fan of Cargo "Sealup".
This product was suggested to me by a mech head who used to have to retreive broken diesel toyotas from the outback.
It doesnt fill up the cooling system or anything else but the leak.
I have used it on a ford 4.0 it lasted 4 years, on my auto vortex. 7 years and still going.
on a Hyundai Scoupe to fix a leaking heater and leaking radiator, two years.
When i finaly fixed the ford head. there was no blocking or filling up of anything other than the hole in the gasket.
It is only finely ground metal particals in a bonding solution. Copper, aluminum etc.
