hey guys, suspect my outback is suffering torque bind has anyone replaced their diff or viscous coupling and have a rough price?
cheers
price for replacement diff on 2000 outback
Depends which diff you are talking about. If it is the centre diff/ viscous coupling you are looking at around $1400 for the new part from Subaru. You cannot get reconditioned ones. Subaru will charge about $200 in labour cost to replace it.

You should be able to pick one up cheap second hand if it's the center or rear, maybe $150-200 center & $250-350 rear, depending on ratio, 3.9 cost more as they are used behind the 6 speed & much rarer.
Join Rexnet if you can't find one, should be plenty on there & WRX parts are the same or better so will fit straight in but make sure that you get the right age if center diff, there is the earlier 4 bolt box & later 99 on 8 bolt box.
Edit....Should be 8 bolt box being 00.
