Keen to hear what you're up to with this mod for the rear.

In the mean time, thought of nabbing a set of front springs from a parked honda accord/prelude/civic/accord? Leave a block of wood cut to the right length in the strut to make it all look factory

This should keep the cost of the springs down

so this is what the vortex looked like when I put the 14's on

with this suspension setting

and this is what it looks like now

with the suspension back where it should be

I know it doesn't look like much but with the shock set on the first setting the spring did nothing and spun in its seat.

Now I can actually drive jetcar and not dodge potholes and lumpy bits of truck corrugation

Plan B is still up for the taking but it will need a 2 inch lift kit for it to work

Engine and box are in but will need to get more pics today, as we are trying to decide if he needs a 1, 2, or 3 inch lift. In the meantime here's some teasers

When you say gearbox converted, is that EJ front casings on the Vort AWD box ?

Yeah its the EJ front casing with the rear vortex gears and awd diff lock, its still single range. What an interesting build its been, Lots of RSR and KPM sponsored parts were involved to build this beast. It gave me a few ideas to think about for my build:)

Yesterday's efforts were a bit slow due to other work booked in but Jules did his best to get things done.

Filling up the fluids and checking for leaks

I"m home again and the car is running great (even better once I tightened the leaking power steering line

)

A big thanks To RSR555 for going above and beyond once again, Subarino, not just for cutting the loom down but then for wiring the computer side into the not cavernous vortex under dash. Guyph as well for all the stuff he donated. (I think I will need to put one of those shopping lists on the rear quarter glass with sponsor names

)

To everyone that was there and helped over the 4 days it took to get this done thanks as well.

as for the turbo I don't need it for what Jetcar will be doing

Thats one fine piece of work that was done. Paul and all concerned really did a great job.
It looks like it was factory fitted. I bet your glad to be home lol.
It was great to have a look and learn session while it was being built.

TOONGA, we need a comparo write up, you know, the typical my refreshed EJ is heaps better than my tired old EA82T

What sort of torque is new donk rated at? I recall EJ22 and EA82T was about same.

How much extra weight at the front, sink a bit ?

But I must also say a HUGE !! THANKS to Davarino (aka Subarino) for giving us his time. It was an awesome help and I'd wished he lived closer cause without you bro I'd be lost. Can't praise you enough Dave, you are a bloody legend mate.

It is 200% better than the motor that came out, the EA82T was literally running as a 2 stroke due to blow by

EJ22 AU delivered is rated at 130BHP, EA82T AU delivered is rated at 115BHP

Ah ha, the whole front crossmember is two inches lower than the body than before then? Doesn't that then change things ground to wheel arch looks etc?
Guess that can be fixed - doesn't slow you down like an old EA82T

200% better than a 2 stroke

I did think I read it was EJ25, now confirms EJ22.

Th old HP V's torque thing, HP is measured flat stick, torque is where (most) do their driving - 2800 in the EA82T I think

All this has reminded me of a broken Foz box on the floor of a guy who owes me (and thinks I have forgot) - those casings could come in handy.
