Post by mud_king91 » Mon Oct 03, 2011 4:56 pm

NO, youre very wrong here. If we wanted a solid axle we would go out and buy a patrol.

Kind of defeats the purpose of having a unique subaru 4x4 setup and proving you can get a subi into alot of places a big 4x4 can get.

i could get my l-series into 90% of the places i wanted it to. Then i bought an very capable SWB patrol and could get to that last 10% of places with ease...4wding got boring, sold the shorty and bought another subaru.

haha dunno thanks for the pic judging just by looking i havnt done measurements But the early model toyo tercel utilizes a similar setup to subaru just with a solid axle so being more a less the same dimentions the diff would be ideal size then it just comes down to general independant to solid axle fabrication

This came out as 205kb in imagehack, right clicked your pic, saved it to my PC desktop, ripped it out with imageshack and try this for size

Dunno about photobucket, but all my pics in imageshack are set for a 12 inch monitor (800x800 pixels) ;)

It's funny that you bring this up as Venom and I were just talking about this terecel rear under a subaru this morning - we both wondered why those after a solid rear haven't looked into it before.

But we're not interested in a solid rear like Alex has said. And I second what he says about 4wd'n being boring. I also think that you learn better skills in a subaru than a big 4wd that's had loads of cash thrown at it...

Cheers

hahaha i agree with alex but at the same time i think if L,s had a solid rear it would finish them... it would be like a 4wd falcon wagon solid axle rear independent front for comfort the usual things lift etc it make the ultimate vehicle in my eyes it wouldnt change it much it,d just give it a bit better traction on the back

My thoughts also

Point and go how easy is that

If you want to learn to 4wd buy a Subaru great to pick your line and the fun of having 2 & 3 wheels on the ground:twisted:
