Yeah its not good to associate humans with food, whether its shark cage diving or lions...have you seen that show where the guys rehabilitate lion cubs then release em...now nicely "tame" & unafraid of humans? Not a good idea!apg39 wrote:Apparently there's a big movement about the shark diving in cages, 'associating' the sharks that free feed with humans in the water...next logical step for them is to attack the humans if there is no feed. May be a bit of a stretch but I get what they mean, leave them alone & they wont be as interested in us.
And if the media stop feeding us sensationalist stories how do they expect us to believe them when they want to spin us their political views?
As a wildlife volunteer we deliberately make sure all our animals RETAIN their fear of humans,,,for their protection & ours!!!
Do you remember a few years ago 2 guys were attacked in the Brisbane R. while swimming? One was fatal, the other i think lost an arm or a leg. well they were bull sharks. Bull sharks are the only shark to live in fresh water. You do occasionally get other species of shark going into fresh water but its only temporary to rid themselves of parasites...they need the salt water for osmosis balance...without it they die. Except for bull sharks.mud_king91 wrote:hahaha they are supposedly 98 out of 100 fish in the brisbane river is a shark... deception bay is filled with them there was romoured to be a decent size tiger in there at one point ( i dont believe it myself )
I have heard the Brisbane R. is full of em but i dunno bout the tiger shark...sounds like an urban myth lol.
OK now for my personal favourite wish...
I wanna catch a shark on a busy beach full of swimmers...then RELEASE IT!
Imagine the looks on peoples faces when they see you release a shark & it swims back THROUGH all the people swimming hehehehe
