So I've narrowed my choice down to Maxxis MA-P1 and Yokohama A.Drive.Phizinza wrote:I'm a fan of Maxxis tyres. I'd say go with them. Cheap, long lastings and tough (from the ones I've seen and used).
Yoko's are $117 per tyre, have a 300 tread wear rating,
less siping, potentially more robustly-shaped tread blocks, albeit a softer tyre compound.
Maxxis are $95 per tyre, has a 440 tread wear rating
more siping, curves and sharper narrower edges in tread blocks, firmer compound.
probably better wet traction, slightly noisier, slightly less dry grip traction.
I wonder if a harder compound would be noticeably better for abrasion resistance in HOT conditions; scorching sand or rock.
