where you buy stuff online
I was beginning to think ebay was about the only online search engine for buying stuff - auto and auto elec, then there is amazon but get feeling they are not local.
I decided it was time for a pair of air horns , high and low tones to keep them ADR compliant , looked in ebay and not much better than retail prices in there. Somehow happened upon soldsmart website with an Oz address and picked up two sets delivered in a few days they claim for $36.
Was thinking just go a coupla old Commodore or falcon horns just couldna be bothered facing a wrecker that values them more than a new set of air horns.
And if anyone knows where a mate can get a car horn that sounds just like a train ffwwFWWAAANnnggg horn, please say, not sure if they are electric or air driven
DISCO ??
maybe compile a list of websites you get your stuff from locally in Oz?

In the US, there is a whole genre devoted to this! Websites, forums etc no different (well, a bit different you would say) to us.
Example
73 Yamaha DT3 250
08 Ford BF wagon - LPG FTMFW
14 Toyota Kluger - goodness!

Spike, hello stranger, just add a dot com dot au - not a search engine, just an aus based retailer of goodies passing on saving to buyer - as they all do
Come to recall the train sound horn - think we spied an electric box like covered in heatsinks ??? purple anodised. It was just one of the amusements the 4400cc Leyland P76 V8 powered, Celica 5 speed cogged open air triumph stag offered - that and the squeal in third as it was booted around a bend at low speed

Example

the 1st one would be guaranteed to scare the c**p outta me

2nd one would have me looking around for a ship in the fog

I don't know about finding them in Oz, but I'd love to mount a set under the bonnet of Ruby Scoo - driven from an air tank that's run off a converted AC compressor.steptoe wrote:And if anyone knows where a mate can get a car horn that sounds just like a train ffwwFWWAAANnnggg horn, please say, not sure if they are electric or air driven
You can get them on fleabay though

Cheers
Bennie
I put one of these Stebel Airhorns on my Forester and it does the job for me, it is compact and loud. I used the standard horn from the Forester's horn and then installed a relay and an inline fuse just in case.
